Yes, it’s been awhile since I’ve checked in, but I just wanted to show that if you post a real comment (as opposed to spam) I will approve, even if it is not nice (see above). Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I appreciate everyone’s viewpoint on Monday.

Jody, if you read this I like hearing from my readers but there is no need for name calling. Plus, there is also no need for all caps.

MOST PEOPLE HATE MONDAYS BECAUSE IT SIGNALS GOING BACK TO THE WAGE-SLAVE GRIND THAT SIGNIFIES LOSS OF FREEDOM. IT SUCKS AND EVERYBODY KNOWS IT. THAT’S WHY PEOPLE HATE MONDAYS YOU JERK.

Hi Jennifer,

Even if we like our jobs, many of us like our hobbies even more. That may explain the onset of a Monday malaise for some.

Yes, it’s on the calendar and arrives once each week, but it’s still a departure from the downtime that a weekend provides. Even if we get up at the same time on the weekends, the demands of the office are absent for those two brief days. By Tuesday we become acclimated once more to the workday routine.

Jennifer, I don’t know if it ever gets easier. Before you know it they are grown and then you sit around wondering if you did everything you could. John is challenging me today to step up and me a tough mom even though he is only two months from his 18th birthday. I sent him to his room even though he practially laughed in my face. I wish you the best in parenting. You a good mom. I look forward to reading your stories.

Yea, we got another little peanut in the oven right now, so if everything goes well there will be one more tiny human in the house attempting to put Rubber Duckies in the toilet while it is in use I will keep you updated…once the mighty vomit passes…

Thanks for your comment, Johanna. It is amazing how things we once loved or enjoyed become the plague after we must listen/watch them a hundred times.

Haven’t had alone time in the bathroom for years, this was pre-tiny human in the house, mostly cuz the cats and dogs decided they need to give me audience. Now the beasts and Nick all hurry to the bathroom to help. The biggest problem with potty time for mommy, Nick finds it impossible to put his rubber duckies in the toilet when I am on and it insists I move?!

So far we have avoided the Barney Apocalypse. My sitter and I are in full Barney Boycott. Did make the mistake of letting Nick watch the Lorax, thinking…this has a good environmental thing going on. Now he wants to watch it everyday, several times. Thinking about the Lorax makes me puke and gives me the desire to slaughter the environment one tree at a time.

I do not like Mondays, it means I have to go back to work, send baby to the sitters, and attempt to look brilliant for another week. Mostly I hate giving up baby time…”sigh…”

Now my husband, Loves Mondays!!! He likes the schedule and what not.

Monday’s signal for most people the end of “their” time especially if they have a 8-5 job they don’t like. For people who enjoy their job or who don’t have a typical working hours, Monday’s aren’t as harsh.

Hmmm, a loaded question. I think I dislike Mondays because the general public does. When it comes down to it, I actually enjoy the routine now that my oldest is in school. I think it depends on wither you are a night person and stayed up late the last three nights. If you head to bed at a good time, then it’s easier to handle.
